Training Workshops in the Tone Deanery

Training Workshops

I am planning to run some training workshops in the Deanery with the aim of helping to make improvements to our Church meetings.  The course(s) would be based on material available from the School of Formation:

 

Effective Church Meetings looks at how to recognise good practice, plan to improve our meetings and look at our own roles and contributions. This workshop would be suitable for any committee member.

 

Chairing Church Meetings.  This looks at the role of chairperson, developing effective agendas, problem solving techniques, ways of dealing with typical behaviours and identifying areas for self improvement. The workshop would be suitable for those who currently chair meetings who feel they would like to learn more about chairmanship, or those who may need/like to take on the role but feel they don’t have the necessary knowledge or experience. It would also be a forum to share experiences and expertise with others.

 

It is my intention to run the training course(s) in either one day or half a day. Before pressing ahead with plans, I am keen to know what level of interest there may be within the Deanery.  I would be very grateful therefore if you could copy and share this memo amongst your PCCs as appropriate and take a few moments to complete and return the following reply slip:
